On Sunday January 31, 2010 at 13:36 hours Caroline County dispatched the Marydel Fire Company to assist station 700 with a reported working house fire. Engine 703 arrived on location officer 7-16 (Cahll) reported heavy smoke showing and established Drapers Mill Command. Engine 56-1 went responding with a full crew with officer 56-17 (Melvin), Tanker 56 went responding with a crew of 2 with Capt Bolden. As engine 56-1 arrived crews from station 700 were making a aggressive interior attack. command assisgned 56-17 as interior, and crews from engine 1 performed vertical ventilation, and then were assigned to relieve 700's crews on the interior attack finishing extinguishment in the attic area. engine 1's crew was relieved by station 400 with officer 415 assuming interior. crews went to rehab. After scene was placed under control by command crews assisted with extensive salvage and overhaul activities. Marydel's Fire police conducted traffic control duties during the entire operation.
